HELP - Fuse for interior footwell lights??

I don't want to make this too long of a story... but does anyone know which fuse handles the interior footwell lights? I have a 2007 e92 and changed the rear console footwell bulbs to LED. ran into a couple issues breaking the very tiny metal tabs holding the small bulbs, tried to solder them back... anyway, both sides went out, and then I noticed the front footwell lights are out, as well as the lights under the inside of the doors. and those are all stock bulbs which i didn't touch.

I then searched a bunch of fuses and can't find ANY that are burnt out. I then simply tried unplugging the rear console lights but all the front footwells are still out.

Any suggestions? thanks!

It should be a fuse, I've had this happen a few times swapping out interior lights for testing. There are good 5 or 6 fuses for the interior and it varies by model, year, and trim sometimes.

bump..

were the contacts on the rear center console footwells touching? I have taken mine out over and over and tried all sorts of ways to put them in but no luck. I have also tried bending the contacts on the bulbs themselves and pushing the contacts closer together on the bulb housing, etc.

all of the footwell lights aren't working including under the doors.. but the domes and trunk light are working fine.

any help would be appreciated.

man what a pain in the butt this has been. footwell lights all around are still not working. I even bought an expensive set of footwell lights built into the housing but noone sells a complete replacement for the small rear footwell lights. double-checked the contacts for what seems to be the 100th time and still no dice. plan on ordering new bulbs. hope that works. funny thing is they worked for a very short period on time during the first install but now all footwell and door puddle lamps aren't working at all....

If the car senses the bulbs are out it shuts them off. LED's don't put enough load on the line and the car shuts them off. Try putting a resistor between the + and -.

Sorry to revive this old thread, but has anybody come up with a solution to this problem? I changed all of the lights in my interior to LED, but the rear and front footwells do not work, as well as the courtesy light under the doors. They worked until I tried to put in the rear LEDs, and now they do not work . All of the other lights in the car work perfectly. Any suggestions? Could it be a fuse? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

From what onebadmofo says the LEDs could be the cause because they aren't drawing enough juice, so if you're sure you haven't blown any fuses, try replacing a couple of the LEDs with OE bulbs and see if it springs back into life again, if not leave the OE bulbs in, switch off & leave overnight & keep your fingers crossed that the module resets.

ArcticBimmer,

I just ran into a similar problem last week swapping my interior lighting with LEDs. My problem was that the trunk light and glove box light weren't coming on. Also, my AC and climate control module did not turn on at all.

Check fuse 77. It should be on the lower left portion of the fuse module. It should be a 10A fuse.

I understand your issue is reflecting on other areas but it doesn't hurt to check it out. Make sure that when you are swapping lights out, you disconnect the power chord that is feeding the socket with current. Even if the ignition is off, there is still current going through and as soon as you put in the new bulb/LED, poof! lol

LED swap gone wrong

Revive of old thread, need to find an answer:
Just what a couple posters experienced - changed all the interior OE with LED and everything worked fine, until I changed the rear passenger center console lights (the smallest LED's). Once this was done, the footwell lights & door puddle lights stopped working. tried re-installing the OE bulbs, no dice. Took the bulbs out, again footwells & puddle lights don't work. So as it stands right now, I have non functioning puddle lights, footwell lights and center passenger rear console lights.
I really need some help/advice with this one.

thanks

Sorry to bump this thread but having exact same issue

No under door lights or front and rear footwell lights.

This happened only after changing the under door lights.

Have checked all fuses. Does anyone know if they are linked to the frm?

Would a frm short circuit reset work in tool32?

Guys have figured out the issue and my lights are back on now

You need to reset the frm short circuit counter for the interior lights

Quick guide for anyone that has this issue in the future:

Open Tool 32
Load group file (FRM1 use FRM_87.prg FRM2 or FRM3 use FRM_70.prg)

Under Job:
Find reset_kurzschluss_sperre

Then to the right in the arguements box type 0x16

Then F5

Once you get okay in the results box.
Close Tool32
Open INPA and read and clear faults

Your lights should now be working again

How is this done on a diagnostics computer? I have same issue where footwell lights and puddle lights don’t work! Driving me mad!
