N43B16, ticking noise from intake manifold
My 2008 E90 N43B16 started to make this ticking noise a few days ago, it is rev dependent, some times it goes a way for a while, you can mainly hear it on idle and under 2000 rpm's, after that I cant hear it(probably because the engine gets louder). It is clearly coming from the area that I am pointing with my finger.
My initial research points to the fuel tank breather valve 13907550387. Any way I can test that it is faulty? It looks like a easy part to replace, but costs about 80€ so I want to be sure before I buy a new one. It should be safe to drive the car for now? Today i did not hear the sound no matter was the engine warm or cold. Here is the video. |

Hi pippu95! I am new to this forum and would like to ask about problem you described, because I also experience similar sound. Did you changed this part? Or do you drive with it? Is it safe?
Glad to finally find someone with similar issue |

I have not changed the part and I will probably not change it before the car starts to act odd or a light pops up in the dashboard. I am quite sure that it is the fuel tank breather valve. I have driven over 2000 km with the noise with no issue (except the noise). I will let you know if i'm going to do something about it, but as for now, i can live with the noise and save 80€
