New-to-me Bi-Xenon Headlight Swap
So I bought some new headlights from a poster on here last week. The headlights on my 2011 335 had some cloudiness on the inside of the lenses and I figured I'd just swap them out and then sell my old ones for someone that really wanted some- or was braver than me and could crack them open to clean.
I popped my 'take off the front bumper' cherry and got the old headlights out, newer headlights in, and everything put back together. These lenses are much cleaner and clearer and I couldn't be happier. I immediately got a warning "Adaptive headlights" and both right and left turn indicators. After clearing codes and starting it up again, the left turn indicator went away, but the other two stayed. And for that right headlight, I'm unable to level it- it seems that the gear mechanism isn't biting or something else is at issue. The headlight is pointing down considerably. The old headlights and new headlights have the same P/N. Not sure what to do. Is there some sort of reset procedure I'm supposed to do after removing and installing new headlights? And, does anyone know if there's a way to fix the leveling mechanism of the one headlight? |

I just realized- after everything is installed- that my old headlights had aftermarket LEDs that made them much whiter/brighter. Could that be what is causing some of my coding issues?
It definitely won't fix my inability to level the right light. |
