Mustang dynos are called hear breakers for a reason
![]() You really want to focus on the before/after numbers. The delta will show the gain, you really need a baseline to gauge improvement. |

Boost will increase based on the load on the motor. You create the load on the motor by selecting the gear. On a dyno the higher the gear the more load you can create which again increases the boost. More boost yields more power. RPM is a major factor on the street but since you always do pulls from about 1.5~2k RPM you only have your gearing that can be changed to increase/decrease the load. I have attached a snapshot that illustrates 4 runs, 2 were 3rd gear and 2 were 4th. You will notice that HP didn't increase much but the torque shot through the roof. |

All N55 turbos run out of steam up top and fairly quickly. After 5k things go downhill quick.
Anyway, I know the numbers are really low. The car feels great and pulls like a mother. I even experienced a few flare shifts, not sure if it was a random occurrence or it will keep happening - which leads me to believe I have well over 430tq. After talking to a few people I would assume that my numbers would be around 350/475 (about ~10% higher) on a Dynojet. The car certainly feels that way - it pulls real good at the moment. Just am worried about the transmission/clutch/etc now. Last edited by mike5809; 07-31-2015 at 07:31 AM.. |

My 2002 Maxima would disengage the AC compressor clutch during wide open throttle. I'd assume a 2011 BMW would do something similar. I'm curious to know for sure though.
