Reduced Power Mode after JB4 Install

Hey All,

I Installed my JB4 without any issues this morning and the car started up and idled fine. I went into Map 1 and after about 5 minutes of driving, CEL came on and went into reduced power mode. I checked all connections twice before reinstalling the HVAC filter and cowl. Anyone have an idea of what could be causing this?

If that happened after just regular driving, I would recheck your connections and don't forget the ground connector.

Made sure the ground was secure before driving off, I'll go back and double check all other connections

same thing happened to me, it turns out it was the boost solenoid connector (blue wires). The male plug on the JB4 harness had a faulty pin. There are two pins that fit into the OEM female connector and one of the pins instead of connecting with the OEM receiving slot (?) was getting pushed back up into its housing.

To fix it I pulled the pin outwards pretty firmly with a pair of needle nose pliers and was able to get a solid connection.

If that was confusing just PM me and Ill send you some pictures. good luck

There are many different models of JB4s and many hundreds of reasons you might throw a code. Normally per the install guide you read the code and then if you can't find its cause email their technical support with information so they can assist you.

Thanks Mike, just went back to my garage to check to codes, but after starting up and idling for 5 minutes, the CEL did not come back on and there were no codes to display. I'm sure it'll come back after driving around again though so I'll post the codes when the message reappears.

You won't get much help on this forum. You'd need to email the codes to BMS' technical support or post them on their support forum on n54tech. If it's a new install they also like to see photos of the install.
