Mine is 07/2009 build 328i with CIC.
I do not see this 'i' thingy. What does that look like? Should my car from 07/2009 have it?

Yes, you need the "i" to be able to update through the glove box usb. To update the firmware you NEED to use an ICOM cable, so if you can find someone local that has one and can do it then you're good, otherwise has to be done at dealership, and they might screw up because most likely they will try to update the whole car instead of the one module.

I am curious as to when the 2020 maps get released as well.

Also, I did notice that my 2019 maps are somewhat 3D. I was driving in Washington D.C over the weekend and noticed the map was completely 3D. Showed all the buildings and monuments. Once I crossed back over into Virginia though, it went back to the normal 2D maps.

3D maps only show up in major metropolitan areas when zoomed in. This has been in the maps for several years, if not since the beginning.

Fellas,

i need help generating the FSC code for my car info below:

build: 2013-06-14
map NA 2019 premium

i have tried generating my 1b file to no avail. the folder has a 1b.hex file when i downloaded it, do i delete that file before sticking the jumpdrive in the glovebox?

You need to convert the 1b.hex file in order to get the FSC code. Very simple.

Update:
Was able to find 2020 CIC NA map, and got it installed to my 2013 F30. Amazing to see new roads showing up. Thanks!
