Hey guys, I've had my e90 for a bit more than a year now and over last summer the interior would get really hot and seemed as though the arm handle would just get extremely sticky and seemed as though it was lightweight melting. I decided to scrape off as much as I can so it wouldn't stick to people's hands closing the doors and now it's starting to annoy me on how it looks. Any ideas on what I should do? Thanks.

I'm having the exact same problem!!! It really sucks when trying to close the passenger side door.

Have the same problem, actualy was looking for the part number and it looks like a $20 fix 51417230850 is the part number for the inside of that handle. Just need to find it in beige for myself.

Is it a screw on? I heard that you have to like heat the handle off the door panel or something?

I doubt its hard to remove, after removing the outside its only screws thats holding it. (by the looks of it i havent done it myself yet)

Im pretty sure you have to remove the door cover to replace this piece

I replaced the handle on mine about 2 weeks ago. You can get both the inner and outer part of the handle from your local dealer for about $35 or cheaper if you buy online.

Unfortunately the door handles are kind of melted on. I just used a trim remover and broke the plastic tabs on the old one off. On the new handle, I used a soldering iron to melt the tabs down to the door and reinforced with adhesive. The process doesn't take long, but you just have to be creative with the melting part.

I had the same problem. I just posted a DIY that is easy and does not involve melting plastic or rivets - just nuts and bolts. Turned out better than new. Here is link: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=548035

Man, that looks terrible, no wonder that you are looking for a fix. I have did mine with the leather wrap, very easy solution that doesn't require dismantling the door cards at all. Have a look at the installation video, I think the links are in the video description.
