E92 2.5i N52B25
Hi guys,
Just got a bit lost for what to look, mine E92 2.5i 218bhp does only 19-20mpg in mixed driving, for me it seems bit to excessive considering that it is a mixed driving and it doesn't go through a lot traffic, so it makes me to believe that something is wrong. Did had a scan - no errors found. Checked for vacuum leak haven't found anything obvious. It does have a electronic disa, tested - working. Operating temperature 80-85 degrees celsius Where else i should look is there are something common relating this issue? What i should start to look, or is it normal MPG fo.r this engine?(hope not). Also noticed that car isn't "pulling" as it should. Drove with identical car to compare mine and the difference was obvious plus mpg was around 30-35. And yes i did calculated the mpg between fill-ups. Does anyone has engine live data values (what those suppose to look like) as once i'm looking at the live data it isn't telling me much as i'm not sure what values actully supposte to be there. Anu suggestions? Thanks. Last edited by Gedas8640; 10-04-2019 at 03:11 PM.. |

"Well, there are technically 4 temperature maps, but in most cases the engine should be running on Eco mode, so this right. The four modes are as follows (there is a PDF online that I am referencing here): • 112°C ECO mode (economy) • 105°C Normal mode • 95°C High mode • 80°C High + mapped thermostat mode " Suggesting to change termostat? I read that car kind a controls it on running conditions itself or is it only a BS as i haven't noticed any changes depending on my driving style? Last edited by Gedas8640; 10-11-2019 at 03:42 PM.. |

If you have been monitoring the temp through mixed driving and it's been sitting between 80 and 85 then if it were mine the first thing I would do is change the stat or stats if it has 2 like the diesels do.
At least then you can eliminate minute the thermostat possibility. |

I would say around 25mpg would be about what to expect, unless you drive it like your hairs on fire.
There's a thread about 325i fuel consumption, I've posted the link. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...Y7JbKGQ03MmEst
