Help with codes
Okay everyone need some help what is the best thing to do. I just started on a Bmw 335! 2007 and been doing all the maintenance on it as we are supposed to and so on. Tonight on the way home it started acting up I mean big time. When I drive it until I get above 2500 RPMs it stutters real bad once I am above 2500 in each gear it drives ok but can feel it is lagging. So when I got home I put it on the Bimmergeek Protool and got the following codes.
DDE 29E0- Mixture Control DDE 29E1- Mixture control 2 DDE 2A17- DMTL System Fault DDE 2A2C - Mixture control 2 DDE 29F1 - Fuel Pressure Plausability DDE 29D1 - Combustion misfire 5 DDE 29D0 - Combustion misfire cylinder 4 DDE 29CC - Combustion several cylinders DDE 29CF - Combustion misfire Cylinder 3 Now I am 100% stock. Should I just Replace all the cylinders now with index 12s or am I missing something else ? |

So read the pressures on HP and LP lines directly. That will give you an indication of what might be wrong. Could be LPFP, LP sensor, EKPM module, or HPFP. Logging is a great way of getting relevant diagnostic information. If you are considering making engine mods and installing a tune, you might as well buy MHD with the logging module now. |

MHD really helps to diagnose issues on these cars. It will log several different PID's (sensors) and let you view them all in a nice charted graph. That way you can see what your low and high pressure pumps are doing.
As a bonus feature...you can flash the stage 1 tune....and get a big bump in power and torque. Do some logging before you just start throwing money at the car be replacing parts just to see if it fixes the problem. I picked up an 07' 335i a few months ago....and went through the same type of issues and far as troubleshooting different codes. Between Google, MHD logs, and the guys here.....you will figure it out. |
