Hi there,

I just purchased a used 53BZ transmission and it sounds like there is something loose when tilting the transmission from side to side. The sound is loudest when in neutral. In any gear, the sound is much less. Seems like it is happening closer to the rear of the transmission. Is this a normal symptom of the transmission?

I have never shook one like that but they do rattle on the car, noticeable at engine start up and shut sown.

I took out all the locking pins and for sure one of them only has a bushing on it. Basically not doing anything. Something may have gotten loose or maybe normal... No diagrams to refer to...
