2008 328i lights work but no power

switched my battery because it was completely drained and after putting a new one the car idled pretty bad between 1-2 rpm, I was driving it and after I put it in park the car wouldn't start. interior lights work but the car only shows the yellow. key logo but won't go any further than that. taking the car to bmw tomorrow for blower motor wiring and pcv recall but I don't think thats the issue.

the bad idle could be explained because with a new battery the cpu will try to establish idle again and set parameters. I don't know what has caused your non start issue but I do believe the car needs to by programmed after having a new battery installed because it has a smart battery system. Taking the car to the dealership for the recalls would be the perfect time to ask them to program you car for the new battery.

The programming is for the battery, which may now overcharge or undercharge.

I've read that a high pitched noise from the radio when driving is a symptom from check ground strap is that true, because I was receiving that when the car was driving

would there be anything to learn by asking why you replaced the battery in the first place?
My starter went out last weekend and I knew it was the starter because everything else worked on the car. It just wouldn't start. You could hear a clicking when pressing the start button. If you opened the hood you could hear that clicking sound coming from the starter.
Oh wait, I guess you started the car after putting in the new battery.

so you've verified that the battery is healthy.
Is this a comfort access car?
If so, have you tried putting the key in the dash?
yellow key logo means the car doesn't see the key.
do you have another key to try?

do you own any diagnostic software?
without codes, or at least the ability to see what the car sees, you're really shooting blind here for troubleshooting.

It is comfort access I've put the key in the slot and it only shows yellow key logo , from my understanding it would have to have a dash going to through the logo if it doesn't recognize it but there's no dash on it

I replaced it because it was completely drained so I bought the same exact one and after leaving it over night the car would click or anything just shows interior lights and clicking start button doesn't do anything just stuck on yellow key logo

take a photo of this error logo and post it.

somewhere around here was a PDF with all of the images and what they meant, but I can't find it.
