Crankcase Breather won't release
so basically I loosen up the three bolts that hold the breather in place, but it is planted to the block and won't open. there is this hose that I thought might hold it but I tried to pull it and only thing that kept it in place was the breather. I saw videos where guys just eased those 3 bolts and it opened easily. Am I missing something?
Also, is it true that when it is clogged up that it won't lubricate the turbos? Also will push oil through the gaskets. my valve cover gasket is blown btw, and wanted to change it, but I wasnt able to take off the pressure converter bracket that is 2007 design and is european and it's basically different design to the american by few bolts and looked different on how to videos on youtube. so contemplating the next steps. Crankcase breather has nothing to do with turbo lubrication, at least not on these engines. So no need to worry there.
As for the component itself, remove the tube completely. That's a start, should be able to wiggle it off from there. You don't have to remove any of that to do a VCG job though. |

I've seen some that loop around back of engine when using your Whitbread built piece. Its cooler over on driver side of engine to better condense the oil. Also, decided on the specific can yet? I'm too crowded over there now with addition of the ATM fuel/water sep kit. |
