Want to upgrade my Climate Control to LCI Style
I have a Pre-LCI E90.
IIRC, its built 08/06. I want to put the LCI climate control into the car with the integrated heated seat buttons. For the future install of the Dynavin Head unit. I see that coding is required for LCI to Pre-LCI, but saw someone said that before 07 it won't work. ANYONE have any information on this?? Thanks!

I think it is plug and play. I think the coding that folks refer to is for the REST vs ALL button functionality. The LCI's do not have a REST button but have an ALL button in its place. You can code the LCI's to have the REST feature.

No need for coding. It is PNP. The All button will work as the Rest button iirc.

Awesome. THAT is what I wanted to know.
I am going to learn how to code the car, so if it bothers me that much, I will do it myself. But if its PnP then Im all for it.

Any more info on this.
I found that replacing the Pre-Lci unit with the rest button to an LCI unit with the all button didn't just work for me. the dual climate on the "all" button worked and all the dials and lights worked as they should but i found that pressing the climate button didn't engage the climate control even though the button would light up. Also i though the built in interior temp sensor on the pre-lci isnt on the lci climate unit so it doesn't know the interior temp for the climate to be accurate ? anyone else noticed any issues when swapped from an E90 Pre-LCI to LCI climate control unit ? |

I have a 2007 328xi e90. I upgraded my head unit to a double din unit. I took the LCI climate control (with integrated heated seat buttons) and it is plug and play with my car. No coding needed. I will mention that the "rest" button is now an "all" button, so you don't have that residual heat function. Maybe that can be coded in, but honestly I never even remember to turn that on. But the new climate control with integrated heated seat buttons works fine for me, no coding needed, just plug and play.
