Ok, I managed to burn a DVD-R with almost 800 Mp3 Files, arranged by several Albums, the thing is using a DVD you can put ALL YOUR MP3 COLLECTION into a single DVD.
The Question: NOT ALL the folders on the DVD are being Shown on the iDrive Screen, some folders are missing but others are there, and no problems at all with the folders being read by the DVD Drive, they play very well. Could it be the BIT RATE of the MP3 Files on Some folders are higher than whatthe Drive can READ? For example I have files compressed to 128 Kbps , and some others are upto 320 Kbps. Could this be the Problem? Please expidite. Attached a Screen shot of Folders Structure on the DVD I use. Also Plz put in mind that some folders have the ALBUM ART Images.

It's a compromise, since you can't use the navigation when you do this.

Yes this works. HOWEVER, you will find that many drives have horrible access times when you put several hundred small files on one disc (DVD).

I knew this a Long time ago - however you need to remove the Navi DVD. i did that once and left the DVD in the sun by accident - BIG mistake. The dvd bent from the heat and it was garbage

Yes I know that there is a Compromise in this Operation, Since I Insert the Mp3 DVD in the Navi. Slot, Anyways, I tried another CD-RW and put in the folders that were not being read on the DVD Disc created earlier, and Bingo! its working.
May be the DVD Disc is somehow defective, or cuz I burned it on a High Speed. I will try burning another one and see. Guys, The Seek Time is AMAZING on my Unit almost Instantanuous, No delays, No Skips. Yet I still dunno the PROGMAN Version in My Bimmer, I wish there is a way to know.

the same problem, but not solved yet!
Hi, I have exactly the same problem with my new car. I created some MP3 CDs, and all of them show only 5 folders on iDrive/Navigation screen. I cannot scroll to other folders with iDrive control. CD were burned with NERO 8.0, with basic settings, nothing special...Can you please write more details how did you create the (working) CD? Thanks!

Only 5 folders show - that rings a bell. I have the iPod interface, and initialy I had the same problem - only 5 folders would show on the screen btw stop to stop turning the controller. Until I realized I had to keep turning the controller PAST the haptic "stop scrolling" feedback. Then the rest of the folders showed up. Well at least the 245 of them which are within the 250 folder stupid limitation of that system.. But that's another problem. Anyway, some brute force might do the trick. Hope this helps.
