CO-UT-NV-NorCA-OR-WA-ID-WY-CO (-ish) Road Trip Suggestions?

Gents (and ladies)--

It's my wife's 50th birthday this weekend, so next weekend we're throwing her a party in Napa-- aaaaaand, since that's pretty close to Carbahn (and I have some unexpected free time), I'm going to drive the M2C out and get it flashed in addition to the party, and then head up to WA to visit my dad and show him the new car. From there, I'll wander back home.

So, I'm looking for route suggestions for each of the following legs--

Leg 1: Denver, CO to Napa, CA.

Leg 2: San Jose, CO (with a newly flashed car!) to Gig Harbor, WA.

Leg 3: Gig Harbor, WA back to Denver (I'm open to suggestions on the route of flight to get there-- I could go over to MT then down through WY, or go through ID and UT back to CO).

Not super interested in slabbing it on the interstate the whole way, and I'm planning on going up the coast from NorCal through OR into WA, but if someone has a "here's a great ride while you're there" suggestion, I'd love to hear it.

I did something slightly similar (but backwards and 8500 miles) on my R1200GS last year, but roads that are good for a GS aren't always good for a M2C.

Thanks!!

R.

I am planning to do a trip like that but from CA to Yellowstone.

The only issue I have with is going on such a long road trip with a tuned car and without a spare tire. If the BMW breaks down the midway, it would be a PITA.

Good luck finding a competent shop out there.

Other issue is that BMW is gonna wanna run free on those open roads in the middle of nowhere.

Yes, absolutely.

But honestly-- when was the last time you got a flat on the highway?

Can it happen? Yes. But I'm not going to drive the car "just in case" something happens.

And if it mechanicals? That's what Roadside Assistance is for. The car's brand new. It damn well better not break down!

I did a good part of that ride on my GS last summer-- from Yreka to Happy Camp to Crescent City down 101 to Eureka.

I was planning to take 101 all the way up the coast, but maybe this is another option.
