I think most people were mad at the companies that abused that, just like they are making fun of OP here. Now if it was a small business that actually used it to keep paying their employees as it was designed, I am not sure people would complain (as they are not complaining here about using unemployment if you don't have a full time job). They are having fun because someone is asking if they can get a handout on top of their full time job to help pay for a mortgage and private school for their kids...

For the "ask not what your country..." - Trump along with most smart business people have long stated that they take full advantage of all tax loopholes and tax advantages available to them, if the benefit is available they take it. Assuming these same people would take advantage of any other benefits available to them? Trying to understand when "doing what is right" vs "doing what current laws allow" kicks in.
