Question UUC broken tie rod / endlink @ ball joint

Has anybody run into problems with the UUC sway bar end links?

I've got a friend's old 335i with KW V2 coilovers and UUC sway bars. One of the ball joints failed the other day (top, right-side end link - nearest the strut), so I've got the OEM ones back in there for now (with minor clearance issues).

Has anybody run into a similar problem with the ball joints that came with the endlinks for UUC's bar?

Thanks in advance!

could just be a defective part, it happens, have you talked to UUC. How many miles on them them, has the car been abused?

Thanks Crimson92.

Yes - it could be a defective part. The car has not been abused. Less than 9k miles on the bars. The bars were installed by Eric at Supreme Power Parts in So Cal, while the car was under the previous owner's posession.

I called UUC this afternoon. "Arjun" asked me to call back tomorrow (they were closing shop at the time I call). He sounded friendly enough and willing to help - just a bit rushed to close shop. He stated that they'll "get me a new part" - we'll see what happens tomorrow.

I'm hoping that the company has some integrity and support for their products and will send the replacement part under warranty or at cost. I'm willing to pay for the replacement... just not for a profit margin, when the part is defective.

well they will send u the part of you pay for sure, but what i would worry about is if the part is strong enough or is it gonna break again. the way it was broken kinda scares me to be honest with you. i would raise that concern to them.

by the way they are in east coast, coz you gotta call before like 2-3 pm PST. use the search function to look up threads about UUC bars. there's always longtran to take a look too, i think he has them or had them on his E90 too.

if you are worried about clearance for the time being you can switch to the OEM sway bar.

welcome to E90Post btw
