Clean Exhaust Tips
Finally took the time to do this. Did not take before photos.
I bought wheel cleaner to see if it works as well as I have read, but it was meh on the wheels. Still need to get your hands into every nook and cranny to clean the rims. But I sprayed it on the exhaust tips to see.... and it did break the black grime down a bit. But I persisted and bought a polishing cone, and hit it with compound and a drill. Then a coat of wax. Looks good! Question about cleaning wheels though maybe you can help.
I use both Chemical Guys and Adams Polishes Wheel cleaner. They both work pretty good but they leave my OEM Gloss Black rims looking pretty dry. What can I use to get the shine back? |

I use a mix of a couple Car Pro products (Reload and Ech2o) mixed into one spray. It is a detailing spray and ceramic spray. The main point is that it is what I use for the rest of my car as a final step. I spray it on the wheels too as they also have a clear coat and it gives a nice shine and some protection.

Rims are a pain to clean, but look great clean. I do extra cleaning at wheel change over time. Clean the ones coming off, wax for storage, and clean the on going also. But the brake dust is brownish....it's very hard to clean the inside of the rims on the car. The spray on stuff did not 'turn purple' like other types, but I think it did loosen the grime a bit. Still direct contact with the cloth/sponge works best.

I will also recommend P21S polishing soap (Made in Germany), which works well. It also works well on stainless steel appliances. https://www.amazon.com/P21S-15300P-P.../dp/B002LOLHHS |

I actually did it originally in attempt to rough up the surface to paint them black. Turned out I used too high a grit and it just polished and cleaned them really nice. Had the opposite effect than I desired.
