Service Light Help

I searched and didn't find anything related to my problem or issue.

When I turn the car on, the first thing I get is the yellow car with Service symbol (about 1 sec.) and then it does the normal start up things. It doesn't come up anytime after that. This started happening about 3 days ago. This never use to happen when I turn the car on before. I got my car serviced about 2-3 months ago. I remember when I needed the yearly service I use to get that sign. So is that normal or do I need to get service again?

this is how it starts.

after a little more time, the light will stay on all the time. then it will beep repeatedly when it comes on and stays on. eventually a little blue man will reach out of the steering wheel and grab you by the throat

(just kidding about the last part).

it is telling you to check your service indicators. i have idrive and I know where to find them only with idrive.

if you don't have idrive, I believe you do it with the left-hand stick and the thumb wheel.

i imagine your next question is that they just finished servicing it, why is the light coming on? for me, virtually every time I brought my car in for scheduled maintenance, a few weeks later, I needed either windshield fluid or oil. don't know why; just know that it happened that way.
