2011 335d injector/glow plug failure

I've had multiple injectors and glow plugs fail. Along with carbon build up. I had the walnut blast done and build up continues. Now it won't pass smog. Dealer is stating it will cost $4k to make repairs and may not clear all codes. Anyone having the same issues? What can be done to prevent the carbon build up and injectors failing? Thank you in advance, I'm new on this forum.

Generally the injectors don't fail that often but you can get injector codes from CBU (offset max?).
The only way to stop CBU is to delete the EGR or block it off completely. I believe this can be done without throwing codes via the paperclip method (search threads on here) but I'm not sure how that would affect emissions readiness.

For us to help you out, maybe post more details:

What codes are you getting exactly?
What isn't allowing it to pass smog?
What parts did the dealer quote you? (Do not go this route)

Service fault codes:
Mass or Volume Air Flow Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance
Intake Air Temp Sensor 1 Circuit Low Bank 1
Cylinder 1,2,3,4 Fuel Injector Offset Learning at Min Limit
Cylinder 5 Glow Plug Control Circuit High

Vehicle will kit pass smog with these values and BMW dealer is scratching their heads

On the glow plugs. The glow plugs themselves are nearly bullet proof and rarely fail. It's almost always the glow plug controller. Inside the controller are aluminum wires that over time crack due to vibration (the controller is bolted to the engine).

Depending on the size of your hands and strength, this can be changed in 15 minutes. 2 bolts, and 2 plugs (which are sometimes really hard to get off).

There is a video out there where someone changes the controller while holding the video camera.
