Your favourite search engine should provide you with dozens of sources for download.
As for installation it can be a real PITA. Generally if you are prepared to pay a small sum, perhaps in conjuction with the purchase of the appropriate connector lead, the vendor will probably have made the installation much simpler and may even offer some instructions and get you going technical support. |

Google is your friend. There is tons of info around for every problem you could possibly come across:

I did warn it could be a pain and is likely take considerable time as it is not always straightforward depending where you source it from but Tambohamilton is right you need to search for itemised instructions that you can follow; it is not as simple as pointing you in the direction of a single installation file.

I have the files on one of my hard drives I just need to find a reliable website I can upload it to that will take big file sizes for free and somewhat fast. I know Mega, but I think it will get taken down like it did previously for mine. I don't really want to make it a torrent.

Once you download the files, open YouTube and search how to install ista.
I followed a YouTube tutorial for installation, and it was super helpful. I originally downloaded ISTA from BimmerGeeks, but it has been taken down. That was a known working source. You could email them direct and inquire if they can point you towards a good download source. |

In fact my first installation was on an XP machine and it ran fine but now I use a 7 64 bit installation without problems. For such useful software it is not computer hungry at all and will run on almost anything unlike other manufacturers' equivalents that you have to run in "virtual machines". For my Volvo VIDA I have it installed on a dedicated remote hard drive that I plug in to my laptop when needed otherwise it hogs the whole system! |
