About to do full detail on Sapphire Black 08 M5, check list inside

I'm going to do a full detail on my father's Sapphire Black 08 M5 (same exact car as FMINUS' ). The paint is swirl heaven and pretty beat down from NY's salty Winter roads. I was wondering what I should add or change to this checklist to do the full paint correction:

Wash:

CG CWG
CG Grime Reaper
CG Window Cleaner
CG Fade2Black
CG Water Spot Remover

Paint Correction:

WHICH CLAY?
WHICH POLISHSES?
WHICH PADS?

CG SpeedWipe (lube)

Protection:

CG jetSEAL109
CG 50/50

Equipment:

Gilmore Foam Master II
FLEX Rotary

Now for the questions:

1. What halogen tripod do you guys recommend? I've heard that the yellow and red tripods that Sears sells have weak stands.
2. As mentioned above, which polishes and pads should be used on this BMW paint? I've seen you guys using Menzerna on BMWs. Also, of the polishes you recommend, what order should I use them in?
3. After letting jetSEAL cure for 12 hours, how should I remove it? Wipe down with which type of MF cloth or something else entirely?

Asking questions like that I HIGHLY doubt you should be using a rotary (maybe you mean the 3401(a hybrid))

...SIP and 106FF are popular polishes if it is really bad Meguiars 105 is great!! (I just tried it for the first time a couple days ago), and orange and white pads are the most commonly used.... As for clay..I like pinnacle poly, and CG gray is pretty good (but I think green is better, (never used it though, I like the Poly)

Use what you are comfortable with (MF's pads, ect...) You remove a sealant the same way you would anything, buffing it off with a MF cloth.

What is your background with detailing? Is this your first time?...

I meant the 3401. I detailed quite a bit back when I was in high school.

WHICH CLAY?

CG Light Clay. CG does not carry Green Clay anymore.

WHICH POLISHSES?
WHICH PADS?

We really can’t help you here. If you gave us some really good pics it would help, but no one can be 100% sure without seeing the paint in person. 106ff is always a good place to start though.

CG SpeedWipe (lube)

I would recommend not using SW as lube. It really is not slick enough and can cause marring. I would buy some CG SQD for lube, for it is one of the best lubes I have used. It’s not soapy, yet it provides great lubrication. If you get some streaking from SQD, then mix it with a bit of water.

Protection:

CG jetSEAL109
CG 50/50

Equipment:

Gilmore Foam Master II
FLEX Rotary

Now for the questions:

1. What halogen tripod do you guys recommend? I've heard that the yellow and red tripods that Sears sells have weak stands.

+1 on Lowes.

2. As mentioned above, which polishes and pads should be used on this BMW paint? I've seen you guys using Menzerna on BMWs. Also, of the polishes you recommend, what order should I use them in?

Menzerna makes some of the highest quality polishes. BMW paint is on the soft usually on the soft side, so just like any paint correction job it is important to start with the least aggressive path and work you way up tell correction is no longer needed.

3. After letting jetSEAL cure for 12 hours, how should I remove it? Wipe down with which type of MF cloth or something else entirely?

I like removing all waxes, polishes, and sealants with MF polishing towels. They are the finest and highest quality MF's I have found. So just wipe it off with the highest quality MF you can find.
