Another way to adjust rear coilovers (How to)
Ill make this quick....
Take two ratcheting straps loop them around the lower control arm Position them so you can pull the coil down evenly. Allowing the perch to float. Then grab the top of the perch and spin the collar. You may need to push down on the hub while doing it to gain more clearance. Pulling down the coil unevenly will not allow the perch to float. Keep an eye on your fingers and be quick about it. You wouldn't want to pinch a finger if something went wrong. Doesn't seem likely though. Too bad manufactures don't add a nut to the bottom. Sure would make it easier. I almost got out the tig welder. Picture describes it well Last edited by Yotaismygame; 01-17-2021 at 10:19 PM.. |

Or just by the internal spring compressor that BMW and Mercedes have as "special tools."

You’re right I could buy that tool. But in the moment when I went to adjust them and the perch would just spin I needed to come up with something. Last edited by Yotaismygame; 01-18-2021 at 03:32 PM.. |
