Hi all,

I've a 6.5 inch business navi screen in the car at the moment and have an 8.8 inch replacement screen/carplay on it's way, which also includes a replacement rear boot handle, with an integrated reverse camera.

The camera/handle doesn't have a button incorporated to open the boot. We'll have to resort to using the key fob, or the interior release button to open the tailgate.

My question is this; has anyone found a replacement handle for the boot, that incorporates a camera and a button to release the boot? I've searched all over ebay etc, however I can only find examples that don't include the release button.

Are they 110mmx40mm? like all e90 e92? So they dont have the black and blue wires with plug? How do you find one that doesn't have boot release switch?

Yep, same handle for all E9x... Ive found a heap of handle/cameras and all seem to be similar with pictures showing the blue and black wires. I’ve found when asking the question to the sellers about the handle incorporating the release button, they come back with a firm no...

If your handle has a button to open the boot, then yep, something like that!

I’m waiting for the new screen and camera to arrive from China, just in case the camera has a button... if not I’ll be buying something like this for sure!

Hey Socket.

My new android/carplay screen arrived!
The camera, did not... Guess my decision to get the camera/handle with a button you linked is now a no brainer!

Ordering now...

Thinking I might document this install for a DIY, as there's very limited information online to support these installs, aside from a few youtube videos. Plus there's zero instructions in the box they've sent to me.

Good luck, a DIY would be a great addition


There are some vids on my youtube channel on how to remove the boot trim, headliner etc that might come in handy

Thanks for the links! I’m sure parts of the vids will transfer across to the wagon.
