MHD DME & HFPF issue
Hey guys, sorry if this has been addressed/ asked already. I've searched a few forums and threads and haven't been able to find any direct answers / suggestions. I'm also new to the platform coming from japs where I used to just leave this to my tuner to figure out.
I've recently purchased one of my favourite cars as a kid, a stock 08 335i e93! However about 5 days after flashing MHD v9 stage 1 map I've had an array of issues. Most notable being the constant code for HFPF - 29f2. To the point of long cranks, jerky ignition and eventually the car just dies in idle. and then also other codes: 2fca 2fa3. Leading up to this when WOT when it would hit 3k - 4km RPM it would start making spluttering sounds and become very jerky. Anything under was fine. When flashed back to stage 0, no issues apart from the odd DME coding which comes and goes. I got my euro mechanic out to check my fuel pump, it was slightly under performing in terms of pressure when running stage 1 (he said 40% under pressure) but when on stock, it was working fine (slightly under pressure 10-20%) I've flashed to stock, car is running fine. I've heard this is a common issue with v9 maps, should I try an earlier version? Is this a sign my pump is in fact dying? I guess my question is, is it the tune causing the HPFP to play up or is it the HPFP is dying? As I want to eventually go stage 2+ Any help is welcomed! Thank you!! Your pump is most likely dying. Do you have any logs with MHD? It's pretty easy to confirm HPFP or LPFP when looking at a log. When WOT rail pressure shouldn't drop below 1500 (as a minimum, for example I don't believe i've ever seen below 1900 on my vehicle), and LPFP should not be below 50.

I was trying to get a log of WOT but at this point I can't even get it out of the drive way, it dies within 30 seconds of ignition So you believe it could be the HFPF even though when I'm stock maps it runs fine ish (pressure is still below optimal like mentioned) |

Based on what you're saying, yes I believe it could be the HPFP. If you can, still try to grab a log when starting.
