Can't DOWNshift in DS mode!

Anyone have this problem before?

Shifting using paddles in D or DS mode is fine but when in DS mode i cannot downshift using the gear selector; upshifting works fine.

When I put the gear selector in DS mode the light appears and i also checked the connectors and they are fine.

Yep - exactly how mine started. Slowly gets worse. Finally not able to change to DS mode.

You should go in sooner than later and pull the wires loom out to give it room. Then fix what needs fixing and you should be good to go!

Opened her up and found only the PURPLE wire severed.

When you guys put everything back did you tuck the cables back? I don't think ill be doing that, there's plenty of room in the outside for them to move around - just need to wrap them in electrical tape.

Did mine about 2 months ago, no sport or m mode for me. Found like 2 broken wires and a few more about to break. Redid them and wrapped them in new tape, then made sure to move them out of the horrible spot they are in stock and to the side so they wouldn't get pinched anymore.

Had the same problem just a few weeks ago. No shift indicator led, d/s mode did not work, and could not shift in m mode. Definitely do not tuck the harness in the same spot as stock.

Just fixed this. I added more wire to purple one since it was already severed, taped them back up into a group and did NOT put them back into that dungeon of a spot.

downshifting works now after fixing the purple wire.

Thanks all!

Good job - by going in sooner - you had LESS to fix. And hopefully by moving the wires they won't stress anymore. I had to fix 3 or 4 wires. Having a mild case of color blindness - makes it harder too. I don't know what genius ever thought to make wires pastel colors and then knowing that MEN are the ones that typically work with wires (men are usually the only ones that actually get color blindness)...just a bad combination.

PRIMARY colors wire making guys!!!!

Where exactly is the wires being fixed? Under the boot of the shift knob?

I'm having this issue in M manual mode, can't downshift.

The wires under the shifter are tucked in a way where they are really tight causing them to tear when moving the shifter. I soldered mine back together and wrapped it in electric tape then loosened it so it allowed some movement.

I'm looking under the boot now, are you speaking of the wires to the right and where it wraps under the shifter? How did you get to the them under the shifter as they are tucked and hidden. Taking the shifter apart? Thanks
