335d nox sensor
So I’m looking to buy a 335d, I am actually a truck person and needed a daily driver, and the appeal of a diesel car that gets such good gas mileage was hard to pass up on. I found one near me that has about 125k miles but I needs a nox sensor, it’s listed pretty cheap at 5k which if it’s only the nox sensor is a steal in my mind. It’s super clean inside and out also, is there anything I should look for to make sure I’m not getting myself into trouble because the nox sensor seems easy enough to replace. Any input would be great, thanks.
Also I’ve heard some people say that sometimes they just get carbon build up on the sensors and you can just clean them, is this somewhat common or is that like a one in a million and they just got really lucky? Last edited by Mkingz17; 08-23-2021 at 02:47 AM.. |

NOx sensors age out just like O2 sensors. I've not heard of being able to clean them. They are pretty expensive.
A clean 335D with 125K miles for 5K is a steal, presuming nothing else wrong. My 335D has 120K miles and runs like new, all emissions systems fully intact. There are many expensive common issues with the car which if you read these boards you already know about. |

I have both my nox sensors for sale
EDIT: if you're not too knowledgeable on this platform ask them if the car is deleted or stock.. if its stock and has not had recent replacements on the DPF, SCR/injector and its tanks, and the EGR valve/ cooler, then I would expect one of them to need some repairs soon, if not all out replacements. Honestly for that price though it sounds like a steal.. I paid 8800 at a dealer which after fees etc. It was a little over 10k for stock 2011 bmw 335d 136k idrive HiFi audio system original BMW rims and still running on the dang run flats even lol. For some reason I'm drawing a blank right now on other options except sport/m sport which my car had neither. It ran great though, seemed ike a headlight assembly was recently replaced since the other was faded,.front tires were a little low but back were solid. Interior was CLEAN with black dash and Dakota(I believe that's BMW nomenclature for a whitish tan color) leather. The seats are super comfortable with adjustable controls and memory (this is an option right?) with the only downside for me being the light color of the leather.. it gets dirty very easily it seems, and I believe it gets stained (not permamently) from dark clothes even. Like I said it comes out, but having to clean your seats almost daily at times can get annoying in the beginning. Eventually I came to love the routine of having to clean the car.
