E90 LCi ACC Retrofit
Hi guys!
Can anyone help me with this retrofit for active cruise control? I kept looking, but I couldn't find anything certain. I have the $540 Cruise control option from the factory, I also recently installed the High Cluster from 335d LCi. The car is a 2009 E90 LCi 2.0d 177hp with manual gearbox. Is it possible that I also need the DSC unit? I know that the SZL and ACC modules, the ACC mounting kit + the front bumper grille must also be taken. Thank you! |

I've been on with gathering parts for this job. I also have a 4 cylinder car.
You will need a six cylinder dsc, with braking function 544. You also then need new ABS sensors as far as I can tell. My car has the rings on the driveshafts, I'm hoping that the new ABS sensors will read these fine, but I'm slightly concerned because some models use a bearing with the built in reluctor ring on the rear of the car. Yet to determine for certain this point, and hopefully if it is a problem the rear bearing is the same size and could be replaced to gain the required reluctor ring. I have also installed the instruments required. You will also need an LDM module. Member Nicko43 documents the retrofit on his 6 cylinder. Info on applying it to a 4 cyl is very scant. |

It can be done but it's a lot more involved than for the 6-cylinder cars. User hupchye has it working on a 4-cyl, have a look in the thread in DIY Guides in this forum.

Kind of raises more questions than it answers. I'm hoping to get away with it having adaptive headlights from factory - and a diesel engine.

Please refer to Nickco43's post below https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1530925 Apparently, it is confirmed ACC is not designed for 4-cyl by BMW. So far only one member aeroshurik followed and almost succeed in ACC++. He has a 4-cyl diesel engine like you. |
