Has anyone succesfully reset diesel engine adaptions by disconnecting battery and if so did this have any adverse effects when re connecting eg non start or other issues.
I only have INPA but this does not give adaption reset for E90 with DDE 6.

Following new replacement MAF from map service gmbh car still throwing codes ( eg insufficient EGR flow ) .

Discon new MAF ,no longer throws codes for egr,drives smooth,boosts ok.
only codes are for map air temp missing and airflow issues.

I am inclined to think the new MAF is causing over rich running and not adapting through driving and may need adaptions reset.

I am reluctant to discon battery for too long following previous issues with EWS and CAS caused by a failing battery.

Any advice welcome.?

It may adapt over time but as per the repair instructions the adaptations should be reset when replacing the MAF. This can be done with free dealer tools on a laptop (ISTA/INPA), Protool with OBD dongle or taking it to your local BMW tech / Dealer.

I have Inpa but unfortunately it does not seem possible to reset adaption other than gearbox.
Please correct me if I am wrong .
My vehicle is an E90 330d msport touring. year 2006.

I have Ista+ but it will not connect to vehicle despite all my efforts having studied numerous posts re.connection over a period of many months.

Vehicle is currently with an independent bmw specialist awaiting resolution of an egr problem which I was unable to rectify myself.

Maf and egr seem to be related so the outcome will be interesting.

Disconnecting battery will not reset adaptations...
