Wow great work, that car is going to break a few necks. I love how little orange peel it has compared to our bmws. Fminus, do you think the GS wet sanded at the factory to remove OP like the LS?

The paint on Lexus's are so nice. I wish BMW had that kind of paint.
Great job FMINUS!

I don't know about much about the 5,6,or 7 series but the 3 series have a lot of orange peel. I don't have it as bad on my car but I know some that is pretty bad. I bet the higher series go through the same paint process. Even my Acura rsx has better paint than my E90, E46, and E36. I have almost no orange peel on my Acura.
My Bro has an Lexus LS460 and his paint is sooo nice.

From what I hear...BMW used water based paints compared to that of asian car manufacturers who still used oil based paints. Water, of course being better for the invironment. I'm no expert so I can really tell you the why the oil is better but I can see the comparisons. Mybe we have a paint expert in the house?

FMINUS did a detail on another Lexus where again the paint looks terrific along with FMINUS's work!
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108600

Again, I'm no paint expert but I wouldn't consider BMW having the best paint out there.
IMHO, just because it japanese doesn't mean it inferior to German when it come to paint....or cars.

Wow this was an old one.
BMW paints are horrible, but all German are. The Lexus paint was like a true mirror reflection.

I remember when wrecked the M5 and I asked the body shop "will you get it back to oem?" They responded with "sure, we can make it look as bad as the original"
