2008 BMW 335i e93 not starting.
Car currently has 139k miles & I've put in 7k since I owned it. For the past month my car has not been able to start & it all started with the hpfp taking a dump on itself. I don't remember the codes I had when it went wrong but they were definitely hpfp codes. Anyways, to list everything I've replaced so far, in order: hpfp (remanufactured "latest" version according to fcpeuro), lpfp sensor (located next to the hpfp) & hpfp sensor (at the back end of fuel rail), lpfp, crankshaft sensor, coil packs & sparkplugs, battery (since my charger was saying it was bad). When I first replaced the hpfp, I didn't get any fuel going up towards the fuel rail. So I started focusing on making sure I replaced the sensors that were recommended when changing the hpfp & checking if my connections at my lpfp & sending unit assembly are connected properly. I had my friend take his working lpfp and replace it with mine to see if it'll help with starting my car but it still didn't start. I did however manage to get fuel sent all the way to the fuel rail. I then proceeded on replacing my spark plugs and coil packs but still nothing. I'm not sure what's causing my car to not start even though I'm having fuel sent from the hpfp to my fuel rails that lead to the injector.
It has been raining extremely hard the past few days here & because I didn't have my engine cover on (since I've been constantly working on this car when I have a chance) I'm worried that the rain water that got into the wiring harness of the fuel injector may have something to do with causing my car not to start. The picture I'm posting is what I mean by water getting into that small hole where the wires go into. Also I can't find ANYTHING in the web on seeing if I have a fuel injector relay for my model/year. So I can't check if the fuse/relay is blown. Please, if anything, help me. I really don't want to have to tow my car to a shop & have them charge me high $$$ on something I could have easily done & fix myself. I don't care for how spending but I really don't want to feel defeated when I spent so much time and labor on doing this myself. (*lpfp sending unit assembly has been replaced a few weeks prior to owning the car as well. Car cranks but stays below 1000 rpm as i can never get it to start. It has started for a brief 2 seconds when I had a throttle body cleaner fluid in my throttle body but that's it) |

Anyways after drying out the plugs & coil pack my engine started for like 3 seconds, 5 max but it died out on me with rpms going to 0. I was able to have it starting every time I attempted to even start it so definitely progress. This leads me to believe that they're still not dried enough and is the reason why it's not holding steady rpm. I would still like to know the location for the fuel injector relay/ fuse so I can check them. |
