Service Counter at 4200 right after reset?
I recently brought my car in to the dealer for its 2nd scheduled service at 30,000 mi. (I drive about 15000 mi/yr). The service reminder went to red as expected as I approached my 2nd anniversary of ownership, and the car was serviced about 2 weeks after the counter went to 0. (I didn't mind bringing it in a little late, as I had the oil changed at my expense at 22,500 mi.)
When I got the car back from the dealer, the service counter had been reset, but now read 4200 mi (rather than the expected 15,000 mi). I've been driving it for a week or so and it is now down to 3900 mi. It looks like I'll be going back to the dealer in 3 months -- rather than in a year. Any idea why it reset to so short an interval? |

The 4000 miles is showing you whatever service is next due.. If you have I-drive you can browse the maintenance screen to see what's coming up next... I'm suspecting it's either the micro-filter or the brakes (fluid exchange)...
