I haven't had any experience with BMW of Fairfax on the sales side. I have with service but only from just a routine oil change. Their service department looks to be well run. Their service bay area is huge and pretty clean. They typically run oil change specials that make it a no brainer to have your oil changes done there if you're still under warranty. I went there in between scheduled oil changes to have documentation I had them done for warranty purposes.

Based my experience with their service department, I'd definitely consider talking to them if I'm back in the market for another BMW.

Many dealerships are deceptive and used car dealerships are usually worse. My last purchase was a 2022 M550 from Passport BMW in Maryland. Their finance guy was a shark who tried to rip me off on an extended warranty and a tire plan. Also being that I was out of state they made the buying process extremely difficult changing the game multiple times. It was almost as if they were trying to get me to back out so they could sell the car to someone else for more profit. I would stay away from them unless you are desperate.

Funny stories. My local BMW service writers tried to sell me on a two-year extended service plan when I brought my new-to-me i3 in for its scheduled two-year brake fluid flush. I asked what was covered for the $500+ plan. Scheduled oil changes, and air/oil filters. Note that the *only* scheduled service on the i3 BEV (as in no engine) is a two-year brake fluid change...and that's exactly what I was there paying under $300 for when they quoted the $500+ extended plan that would have expired the day that next service was due.

When we were in the "closing room" for my DW's Kia Niro BEV purchase, the financing guy picked up a poster board with all of their dealer-offered pre-paid oil change plans to sell us one. In his defense, it was the first EV that his dealership ever sold, and he honestly didn't know that it didn't need oil changes until we told him that it didn't have an engine.....

Found a dealer who isn't a crook (and also not in NJ/NY)
Not the exact blue I wanted, but my son loved the color
I just wish it had more packages, and without Harmon kardon, I'm going to have to upgrade the stereo.
Dealer only charged $589 in dealer fees. Totally ok with that.
The 2 people I dealt with here really nice and upfront
Would def deal with them again, they have a gorgeous kith edition M4 in the showroom.

I have never, ever, bought anything when buying the car other than the actual car
No extended warranty, no tire and wheel protection, no undercoating, no LoJack, nothing
I'd rather buy that stuff later on when I am sure it comes from BMW not some 3rd party who will screw me over

Their service department is very good, been going there for about 14 years with no issues, except once they gave me a Nissan pick up truck as a loaner for a E92 M3
They were all out of bmws, so this is all enterprise has available

Only issue is they run out of loaners very quickly so you have to go early in the morning
And their parts are at MSRP
You have to order them online from their website, then pick them up at the dealer for a 15% discount

I feel your pain because I was recently (approximately 4 months ago) in the market for an Acura MDX and I'd like to share my "Tale of Two Dealerships"

Dealership #1: Located about 20 minutes away in Arlington, had a reasonably priced 2016 MDX with low-ish miles, asking $27K on website. Drove it, went back to the "Sales Manager" and was ready to buy the car, when he proceeded to tell me additional costs of "adjusted markup", "reconditioning" and other junk fees which put it right at $35k. I thought I had entered a time machine back to when "Bait and Switch" was standard business practice! I had my M3, so I thoughtfully left two burned rubber marks on the way out

Dealership #2: Located about 5 minutes from my house, I found a 2014 MDX with very low miles asking around $28k that had just hit the web. Immediately called, they told me it was in shop but they would be happy to show it to me. Took me around to the shop, I liked it, and went back to discuss price. Told me no additional extra fees, just standard Virginia Tags, Tax and Title fees. Left deposit of $1000 via Credit Card, with the assurance that they WOULD NOT CHARGE MY CARD until sale is final

Not a fair fight, and of course Dealership #2 was BMW of Fairfax. The salesperson had been there 15+ years and said they have very little turnover in staff. Clearly well run and professional.

Epilogue: MDX at dealership #1 was still there 2+ months after I saw it. I passed on the MDX at BMW of Fairfax (they did not charge my card for the deposit) and found a better deal from an individual.

I understand your frustration with car dealers right now, but the good news is the advantage they have over us is dwindling as the market has begun to turn more "normal".

You adjusted your expectations and your patience was rewarded with a fantastic car from a decent dealer … congrats!

The salesmen/dealership was very straight forward, no added markups, surprises, pressure or etc. I had a 2016 Toyota to trade that was paid for, which they quoted me the correct price for. The transaction was negotiated remotely and they didn't ask for a deposit, rather I asked them if they wanted one as I didn't want to drive the next day and have a surprise so I gave a credit card deposit of $1,000. When I arrived the car was ready and waiting for me. There was one surprise, which is that they gave me a lot more for my trade than we had negotiated over e-mail! I was paying cash for the vehicle and was in and out of the dealership in well under an hour! If you want the contact info for the salesmen please let me know.

Judging by the scratches on the inside door handle, looks like this was a wife's car.

Looks like a nice buy. ENJOY!

I hooked it up to my connected pro account.Turns out I can pay $300 and add remote start
Yes it was a rental, but in great shape
Except for those god damn run flat tires
Not sure why BMW won't give up on those
It drives firmer on 18's than the 30 profile 20" tires on my Audi RS-5!
I ordered the drivers door gasket, and the passenger side seat belt lock doesn't hold the buckle, so ordered that too
As well as a second key

Next up he wants a black grille and a black spoiler, but he will have to earn those
