Sourcing together parts to do an Anthracite headliner conversion on my E92. Does anyone know if you can remove the colored plastic trim piece on the roof switch assembly?
I haven't removed my assembly yet to see how the trim is secured, just wondering if it's possible or if it's a molded unit. Pic for reference, just want to remove the gray piece to paint it and not spend $450 for a black switch assembly. |

You can disassemble it to remove the innards from the rear so there are no switches etc in the way then to paint.
I recommend Colorbond BMW black |

Have you removed the trim cover before? Is it as simple as just removing the backing screws? Or is it a complex disassembly with small parts involved? |

No worries I used it and Plasticote on trim pieces before now.
I can't remember I think there were around 6 screws in the back to seperate it |
