New wheel advice
Hi, just wanted to ask for advice on these wheels I've seen. Currently running 18×8 on the front and 18×8.5 on the back on my E92.
Like the look of these and think they'd look better than black or grey: https://www.wheelbasealloys.com/allo...nch-wider-rear but concerned that the front would be 8.5J and the back 9.5J. Would this cause any issues/alter the handling of the car? Last edited by CE92; 12-15-2021 at 07:36 AM.. |

Shouldn't be a problem. it's only half inch increase. You can run the same tyres as you are on stock setup. It will stretch them slightly but it's not even noticeable. I did a similar upgrade with slightly wider wheels like you have and i don't notice any difference at all.
treat yourself! they look good in bronze |

Try to find the offsets of the wheels front and rear.
Without that, it is hard to tell. I ran a 18x9.5 +22 on a 255/35 in the rear and it didn't rub. 265 will cut it close depending on camber and if you are lowered. If it is in the 30 range, you will not have to worry at all.

Snow Tyres
Apologies for jumping on this thread but could really do with some advice. I have a 2013 BMW 320d coupe (rear wheel drive) and am trying to get prepared for the winter. The wheels currently fitted to the car are 225/35/19 on the front and 255/30/19 on the rear. Its proving near enough impossible to find winter tyres for these rims, and the majority of 2nd hand rims with tyres i can find are 16" rims.
Am i right in assuming a set of 4 x 16" rims will be no good for my car? I actually have an old pair of winter wheels from a previous car of mine (2005 320d saloon), which I used to just put on the rears and it worked fine, but again i'm not sure if these will be suitable for the car i have now. Any help/advice would be MUCH APPRECIATED! Thanks |
