Steering grind & squeal
Today I put in my downpipe and to get access I had to unbolt the steering rack and move it to the side. I’ve got the car back together and now the car grinds and squeals, here’s a vid. Any ideas?

Hard to imagine the work you did would affect the hydraulic side, that is, the PS pump and serpentine belt slippage (and causing squeal).
Bentley shows 56 Nm + 90 deg turn for the rack mounting bolts. Therefore those torque-to-yield bolts should be replaced once removed. For 10.9 grade bolts they should at least hold 66 Nm per generic torque table in Bentley. |
