adaptation time for V3

I have been running a V3 in a otherwise stock 135 6MT and all was good. I added the twin filter set-up and loaded map 1 (doomsday) last night. No limps and am running good fuel (shell with a few gallons of 100 octane camII) So far driven about 50 miles or so and the car feels de-tuned...it just does not pull as hard. The V3 that I have is the later one with clear relay. Was the map that came in the V3 a non doomsday 0 stage? BTW ,my car has V80 and as far as I know does not have 29.2. Bought in late April and have not returned to dealer. I have searched and get mixed messages about battery unhook....do I need to go stage 1 non-doomsday?...unhook batt to speed up adapt ?? or just do some more pulls and wait and see if the TQ comes back? First post but i have lurked long time....thanks

It feels de-tuned because you went from a non-doomsday to a doomsday map. Go get the doomsday stage 1 map and load it up....

Make sure you have a v80 before you do this....

Can you clarify? It sounds like he already tried this unless the doomsday map used was a stage 0.

The map he had before was Stage 0 non-doomsday, he then loaded Stage 1 doomsday thus his car felt and was de-tuned compared to his first map....

you need to load the NON-DOOMSDAY Map. I made this mistake when I installed my updated harness. My car ran STOCK 1/4(actually worse than stock) mile times with the doomsday map. It was my mistake. I uploaded the NON DOOMSDAY map and Baaam, super POWER!!!

That's what I thought but you advised him to load the same map he already has, typo maybe?

Good to know. If theres this much difference for the V81 guys I am so glad to have the V80! Cant wait to get home to change this. Thank you for this forum! I Was not expecting a big bump in power from the twin air filters (mostly noise) but I did not expect to go slower. Its slower for sure. The good news is it will be eaisier this time after doing once .I have the RR downpipes in the box waiting for the 3" exhaust to add at same time. I am new to turbos but not new to hot rods. Most of mine had carbs,..turbos rock!

Yes currently the V3 Doomsday map has less horsepower than a Dinan stage 2 tune until you get to the very top end ( > 5500 rpm).

and this is using dyno data that e90AW335i and Shiv have published.

Maybe Shiv will play with fluid pump pressure ( or go above fuel trims of 10%).

So SSTT and V3 Doomsday run about the same torque?

Nope. Current v3 Doomsday maps have been juiced up slightly from early versions. Regarding the chart, cool work. Just wondering why it only goes up to 6000rpm and not 6500-7000rpm.

Shiv
Yeap, sorry about that as some of the tunes like V3 and JB2R continue to rise
( although I have their max hp and torques in the the chart titles).

I have a just delivered car ( thus v81) and have been looking at what to use with it so dinan and V3 Doomsday have been what I have been studying.
I expected you will continue to work on the Doomsday, but have not yet seen dyno data from where you are now.

I'm running v80, with 29.2, map 1 doomsday with dual intake and it definitely feels a lot slower than the regular v2 maps. When will we know if we can increase the tq without dealer detection via 29.2? I'm eager to get some of the torque back.

What happens if a dealer detects a piggy back? After all, its your car...

I thought BMW cannot void any warranty claim unless it is atributable to a non-factory modification. So the dealer cannot void warranty just cause ur car runs an interceptor.

unleaded

The pump has UNLEADED stamped all over it. The same station also has 110 octane leaded fuel for those that can use it. I have used fuel from these guys for years. I have a C-5 for track play that needs this fuel. I am not convinced the N54 has to have it. Or runs much better with it. Placebo effect?? Depends on who you ask. I do know that the Non-doomsday map sure pulls harder than the doomsday map does. I have not had a chance to use Shivs latest work but plan to try it soon. I also have DPs from RR waiting to try. I have the 135 so for the rest of exhaust theres not much to pick from so far...may go the custom route.
