PROcede does not alter. ppl have done calculations dividing the miles in the trip odometer to the gallons filled, almost identical in most cases. I guess variation depends on your driving habits. My calculations have varied to +/- 1mpg or less to what it says on the ECU.

Yup, it's the stop and go, my c32 Merc would display your mileage since you started the car so every time you get in the car you'd be getting current mileage. From years of that constant feedback I can tell you that stop and go is always the biggest mileage killer, even more than hard driving. The 335 is 3-4 mpg better than the c32 during spirited city driving and about 1-2 mpg better during gentle city commuting.
