Thanks for the kind words.

Because that bulletin came out after the software tune bulletin some people were quick to jump to conclusions without ever calling Dinan. Nothing between Dinan and BMW has changed in the warranty dept.
I do get more info than most from Dinan so I am glad to be of assistance.

Well I'm not appreciative of Chris' info. So there. It just so happens that I like to live in a state of abject fear and paranoia.

Ok...point taken. Thanks Chris.

Call Dinan yourself to double check but this is the info they gave me.

Hi Chris, by CPO, are you saying that they will still warranty consequential problems, but that the process is no longer seamless to the customer? You pay BMW dealer upfront for work they did, and get it back from Dinan? I assume they're not touching their actual warranty...

Because as far as CPO goes, right from the start it was stated that BMW wouldn't let you CPO the car after the original warranty period was up, if you had Dinan'd it.

If a car modified by Dinan sold the warranty would remain the same from Dinan it just would not get the extended BMW version.

Correct once it goes out of warranty BMW would not CPO an DINAN car. It had to be enrolled before the 4/50k.

I am glad to hear that you like your Stage 2. I tried to schedule mine l;ast week but the service manager told me that BMW said not to do anymore 335s. In reality they said not to fo the newer ones with the version 81. So i am calling today to schedule my Dinan Stage2. I am looking forward to getting rid of the lag and sluggishness it has now. From what I have read the upgrade takes care of those and gives more of that push you back in your seat pickup.

I can get it cheaper in Vegas. I can get discounted labor and 20% off Dinan stuff. A stage two will run me about 1800 out the door.

First of all Dinan is not cheap. Why would anyone dump a load of $$$ into a car only to turn around and trade it (CPO are traded in or lease returns right?) or if its a lease turn around and turn it back in? Makes no sense. I think people spending good coin to mod their cars usually intend to keep the car. Just a guess on my part...
