Has anyone had the SSTT before they went DINAN?

I am getting dangerously close to going for the DINAN tune and wanted to know if its a noticeable difference.
Also with this CPO issue expiring in September, I wanted to get on this sooner rather than later.
Any input is greatly appreciated.

SSTT has no fuel enrichment and does not change engine parameters that Dinan does. Basically youll make a few more ponies with Dinan and do it more
safely and with warranty.

Dinan

I think the Dinan might possibly be the best overall tune, but I am reluctant to pay that much for a "warranty" that will be voided if I add anything else to it... like a muffler or intake cone. Paying 2000 for the flash isn't so bad, but paying $1700 for 2 mufflers with tips, and so on begins to get a bit silly to me. Unfortunately. I am sure the quality is nice, no denying that. But is the best hamburger in the world worth 500 dollars?

The CPO issue won't really matter - once you Dinan the car if you trade it in, they can't CPO it - doesn't matter if you get the tune before or after September 30th, just that after September 30th they will give you less for your trade.

We'll see if that really actually turns out to affect trade-in value. This CPO thing has been blown out of proportion a little, as 550Chris said in another thread, BMW won't even CPO the M5 or the M6 - stock.

I have the SSTT and was also contemplating Dinan - but 2k ...too much for too less power. The SSTT is the safest thing out there and takes literally 30seconds to remove/install. G/L with your decision!

I know the Dinan tune gives you decent power, but it's not excessively alot over the SSTT

Please dont make blanket statements that are not factual whatsoever. Plus, I hardly doubt you could explain to me how a tune that does nothing but raise boost is "safer" than one that add fuels, controls timing, among of host of other things.

As always, it is easier to stick with what you know....not what you think you know.

Before this turns into a pissing contest over which tuner is better let's try to answer the OP's question. OK? These stupid arguments over which tune is better detract from the quality of the technical information that COULD be provided.

on my dyno it raised the AFR compared to stock.

even split second the makers and Eurobahn say it raises boost. it also has a built in heat compensation protection to reduce boost, if things get really hot. there more to it then just raise the boost, i think you should take your own medicine and not tell other people the same.

I think the O2 sensor feedback results in fuel adjustment as part of normal fuel operations / feedback.

Timing appears to be adjustments based on some ECU decision, possibly through knock retard or some other parameter.

Someone with a nice test harness should just hook up the SSTT and see what impedence it presents at various combinations of inputs and determine whether it is dynamic or static circuitry, etc..

Even if simple, it does sound like the SSTT is a good product.
