I was sure the S650 was going to be my M2 replacement, but it sounds like Ford majorly messed up the steering. I can't justify the current used S550 prices either.

The Camaro back end is really disconcerting. The screens are absolutely hilariously bad, like 2014 wants it's screens back. Fuck me what a calamity.

they did a good job making it look good in the press photos.

the dark horse looks awful in these new videos. like they just slapped an autozone black vinyl on the bumpers and roof. and they want 60k for it.

It totally explains the curb hopping at cars and coffee events.

I really wasn't a fan of the GT I had for a few days. Too numb feeling a car. I can't imagine the new model will be any different given the carryover underpinnings.

I do however commend Ford on keeping the V8 alive. The other two automakers in Detroit didn't get the memo.

Just going off what was shown in the video, very light and numb steering. At least the S550 (and my M2) were weighted nicely while being numb.

Maybe BMW figured out electronic steering finally...but a few years ago, they had no clue. My BMW was terrible for this. Large dead spot in the middle...wtf? A few mfrs have figured it out though and it's not impossible to do. Steering too light definitely makes it harder to do performance driving, you break loose way too easy, you are able to increase the steering angle way too easy for how much traction is available. It's ok for a comfort car...but as soon as you start hitting it, you need some weight in there.

this makes sense, the self centering torque on a standard mechanical steering wheel gets stronger with more steering angle. i drive for hours and i don't need my hands to get tired for no reason. but yeah a communicative steering is good for driving at the limit which i won't be doing on public roads!

can't afford a Porsche performance steering so the numb BMW one will have to do

It looks like a Camaro, wth.

Man do I hate these screens in cars. I'm just not getting used to them at all.

I lived with a 6MT 2016 GT for four years and the steering is pretty vague. I got used to it but on the track it was common for me to run over the apex. Also the car had understeer which was fine but would snap into oversteer with this odd pitching feeling. I massaged most of that out with some suspension mods but it was never going to be a time attack machine on a circuit.

However, it was a great interstate bomber. I took it to FL, AZ, CO and pretty much commuted back and forth to Austin in it. I put 100k miles on it. It never left me stranded and with the magnoflow exhaust and the 6MT the automotive theater was amazing.

Would never buy another one.
