Paint Pinholes?

Hey guys, i've been on this forum for quite awhile now, but my first time actually posting.

So i got a 2008 e92 (jet black) in April, and with 4400 miles on it, i just realized i got these nasty dots ALL OVER my trunk and roof. I always garage my car, except for about 2-3 days, which i think caused the problem???? Can the heat do this to my paint? I do live in LA and the weather does get pretty hot, but will the hot sun do this to my paint?

i tried doing some research, it seems as if these dots are "pinholes". They look like the clear coat is separated from the paint, and it's EVERYWHERE. I'm not sure if it's the heat that caused this, but after reading up on it, I've learned that it is usually caused by improper preparation or procedure. I've also learned that the only way to get rid of it is to repaint. so is it a defect?

i've set up an appointment with the dealer i purchased the car from, and they told me that they'll take a look at it. So if they do decide to fix the issue under warranty, will they be repainting my car? Do i want a relatively new car to be repainted?

If anyone else here has had the same issue, please chime in and let me know how you fixed this issue.

I know it's hard to see what i'm talking about without pictures, so i'll try to get those up there as soon as i get home. thank you for your help.

If 2-3 days in the sun caused your paint to blemish BMW would be out of business. It sounds like there is debris on your paint, try washing your car and then use a clay bar.

well it's definitely not debris, it literally looks like the clearcoat is being lifted from the paint, or little tiny cracks in the clearcoat. You can even feel them.

And i have washed my car. =T

You'll come to find out that jet black paint is absolutely terrible. Never will I get it again. The paint is so soft and swirls if the wind blows on it too hard.

I've got a few of the pinpricks as well. They literally look like small pimples. They are raised slightly off the paint.

Pretty damn annoying if you ask me.
