That's the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the price.
But kudos to butteredpopcorn for getting it for free. That's awesome.

WOW thats something different..AFE might have something innovative for the intake system, but I am not too sure about the heat shield being more asthetics than what it was intended for! Nice intake though

That looks really nice! We definitely need to see dyno numbers from someone with a tune! I would have liked to see this intake totally sealed and use only the fresh air from the snorkel though... Nonetheless, great to see innovative designs!

And make sure the dyno sheet shows a boost reading as well. I know some companies put out an intake and the power comes from an increase amount of boost.....

How much of a discount would we be looking at?

From a CAI alone? Really? If so - I'll do the group buy.

+1 That is a significant markup versus the BMS/Vinshu--but could be worth the coin if it was putting out higher HP.....

I don't see how or why it would yield more power than any of the other dual cones. It's not going to be that much cooler. The design looks sturdier, and it's definitely more attractive, but I wouldn't really expect noticeable power gains over the other dual cone options.
Not to say that i'm not interested. I'm just not exactly interested at a price thats THAT much more expensive than what I already have. Which is why a groupbuy seems right up my ally
