When I got the Model Y, I would charge on a regular 120 plug in outlet which took over 30 hours and supercharge as needed. This averaged me in $150 price hike on my utility bill per month and roughly $150-200 in supercharge charges each month. Now that my i7 comes with free unlimited charging, there is not point charging at home when there is a charger at my gym, which I go daily and spend over an hour there. To answer your question, the answer is ZERO My charges are from. Idle fees that I let the car sit at an EA station over 10 min.

You have an incentive period of free charging. As do many. The question posed was without such a free charging period. I also have one and have charged 1,370 kWh for free, getting me 5,111 actual miles. Saving me approximately $1,100 in fuel.

Charging publicly vs at home is dependent on the region. I charge exclusively NOT at home because Tesla supercharger rates are typically cheaper than my home rate. Plus they are so abundant in Southern California I'm not concerned about range or anything like that.
I will say the other charging companies appear to be awful. There is an EVGO next to a tesla supercharger and it's crazy to see the lines and about half of their chargers appear to be down at any given time. |
