Yes it seems like it. I’m gonna get it professionally done I’m thinking. Wish it had PPF on that part my car only has front PPF

Yeah, the rockers absolutely need PPF, although I'm not sure it would have prevented this issue, it's great to have. Just make sure you don't PPF until 90 days, so in that regard, new rocker, new paint, wait 90 days, PPF, install, win.

My car is currently in the bodyshop getting a new rear bumper. PPF may have saved the original... entire front end and rockers were PPF'd when new, but I didn't do rear bumper. |

90 days, minimum. New paint needs to fully off-gas before you cover it up with PPF, wax, ceramic coating, anything. There was thread about this a couple of months ago, can't remember which sub-forum it was on.

Some shops will tell you that you can bake the paint for out-gassing, and when they do so, ask them to see their baking chamber. It's complete bull. Wait 90 days or wish you had.

Good eye, I was focused on the scratch...and you are correct, PPF would have done nothing, on the contrary, the scratch would have made a mess of the PPF and then, the OP would have had to replace the PPF anyway.
