Exclamation Persistent Parasitic Draw and Door Lock Issues

Hey everyone,

Running into a persistent issue with parasitic draw in my BMW E90 318i (no IBS). Thought I’d share here to see if anyone has encountered something similar.
  • Failing door lock actuators: Initially, I had a problem with the driver's door not opening. Replacing the door lock actuator fixed it. The same issue popped up with the left rear door lock (after some time tough, ~1 month, all during the parasitic draw), and again, replacing the actuator seemed to solve it. This time though, for a blissful week, it seemed to have fixed the parasitic draw too.
  • Door Lamp and Locking Issue: About a week later, a new problem emerged. The driver door open lamp was on, even though all doors were shut tight. This issue prevented me from locking the car (though unlocking and window operations via the key fob worked fine). I checked all related fuses – none blown. After an ignition cycle (noticed ABS, etc. lamps), the car locked properly. However, the next day, the battery was down to 9.8V, leaving me unable to start the car.

I suspect the driver door lock actuator could be the culprit given these weird symptoms, but I’m open to suggestions. It's been a frustrating 4 months with a manual battery switch due to these draw issues.

Any advice or similar experiences?

Cheers,
Bartosz

I had a similar issue with my 09 e92 , turned out to be the driver side door handle comfort access was draining my battery. Replaced worked amazing for a couple months, went to get into car today and it’s dead over night. back to the same problem and trying to figure this out. Very stressful
