N54 Alternator 335i

Hello everyone im new to the e9x community i had a e46 before and knew it very well i see that i have a bad alternator on my n54 (its a 335 but has a motor from a 135 i dont think it makes a difference both n54) the rhing is alternator For this car is extremely expensive what is a good cheap alternator less than $270? Please help me out thank you very much!!!

No, rebuilt OEM (Bosch) ones are 400$ and new ones 600$.
You get new ones from Stark brand for 160€ in France, must be poor quality

Not a ton of info in the post but check your ground strap first. It costs like $10 to replace. Bad ground can make you think the alternator isn't charging enough.

Also when I used an ACDelco alternator my car went nuts. I have never heard an engine run so poorly. It's hard to explain because it was just an alternator. Maybe like running on 2 cylinders idk. I had to put the old one back in. Ended up using a remanufactured Bosch which worked fine but my issue was the ground strap.

In some cases, you may be able to replace just the voltage regulator. There are some YouTube videos showing more complete rebuilds also. I suppose you could also have yours rebuilt by a local alternator shop.
