2007 BMW E93 CCC - missing text
I had to change the cluster on my E93 after it decided to give up and stop working properly.
I bought a new one (factory, not used), which took a long time to arrive, but it did. It was coded and is working correctly and displays everything correctly (RHD, km/h speedo with oil temp reading). However, the CCC unit seems to have a problem with the new cluster. The text in the CCC keeps disappearing. The text disappears 3-5 seconds after you start up the car from when it was completely off. The main menu has the 4 options listed with the text, and the text disappears after 5 seconds. If I reset the CCC (long-press power button and eject buttons) it reboots, reloads and the text is back. And stays there until you turn off the car and turn it back on again OR any sort of warning gongs. The warning can be anything, e.g. low fuel, TMPS, washer fluid, check engine light, turn off DTC/DSTC. When this happens, the text disappears. The first time this happened is when the garage cleared the fault codes after swapping the cluster (power related faults, lots of them) - prior to this everything was fine (I drove around for a weekend to verify the new cluster worked properly and the CCC was fine). Everything is coded as per the BMW guide; by the local BMW shop. We are very rural, so their experience is limited with anything electronic... Does anyone have any sort of clue as to what may be happening? |

If you want to try a new CCC unit, just cover the shipping cost and it's yours.
I'm not sure of the exact date cutover when they upgraded but this is the newer style CCC. |

I cannot do that. Europe is LHD (apart from UK, but they have MPH, not KMH) and my car is RHD and KMH.

If the tacho scales are correct, everything else can be recoded, doesn't matter if it was RHD or LHD.
