Trans seems to be weird

Hey guys. Im new to the forums. But not new to the beemer world. I currently own an E92 328XI with abt 150k miles. I just picked it up last month. The car seems fine and i got it at a good price. Im also pretty mechanically inclined and also had an e90 328xi in the past, so i know a thing or two about these cars. What i noticed recently is the transmission seems be just slightly jerky. More or so when its downshifting. Ive had a couple friends drive it to see if they feel anything but they all said “maybe a couple shifts felt off but it seems fine”. Me on the other hand, i can feel it. Thing is they are just slight jolts when its shifting. Nothing crazy. Anyways ive seen a few threads on here saying to drain the fluid and put a new filter or do some sort of update. I dont know but id like to hear your guys’s thoughts and opinions on this. Does everyone else seem to have a slight jerk when shifting? Maybe this is just how these cars drive since i did notice it a little bit on my older car too. Im used to a smooth shifting mazda so. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Weird indeed.

Anyway...xDrive vehicles have the GM transmission. The seals and check balls probably need replacing. Common symptom is a jolt when you're coming to a stop when it's shifting from 2nd to 1st.

Thanks for rhe reply! I did notice the 2nd to first is harder than others for sure. Seals and check balls sounds like a job thouhh 😞. Sucks that i got the car a month ago and already have to put some work on it. No chance its the software?

I did forget to mention. The shifting feels better in DS. Doesnt jerk as much as it is in regular D. I can notice the difference especially in the downshifts.

I've been genuinely curious how effective AT-205 would be to address the 2nd to 1st jolt. I get that from time to time but only during multi-stop trips through town. Had a shudder issue that was temporarily resolved by changing the fluid and filter which is slowly coming back.
