Thoughts on this Flywheel Condition?

Doing manual swap. This is the flywheel that came with the transmission. What do you think about its condition? Is this a normal look and wear and okay to install?

Because the DMF can fail at higher miles, my advice is replace it with a new flywheel.

The springs inside this flywheel will also be trashed. It has clearly been abused and/or slipping.

I thought they only came in a kit. A kit for a DMF setup usually includes the flywheel as well

The answer is yes, you can buy just a new clutch disk. I guess you are trying to save money, but you are looking in the wrong place. The clutch kit includes the clutch disk, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and pilot bearing. Some also include the disk alignment tool, which is something you need to check; you need the alignment tool. The new pressure plate comes with the finger springs locked open (i.e. compessed), which eases clutch installation. A used pressure plate will need a tool to correctly position the finger springs open (compressed). You possibly can install a used pressure plate without pre-compressing the springs, but I'd bet its a real bitch to try it that way. The proper way to replace a clutch is with a kit that includes the new disk and pressure plate.

And if the flywheel surface is damaged, it should be replaced as well. The dual mass flywheel for the E90 cannot be resurfaced easily. You might find a machine shop who will try it, but at your risk. It's better to just buy a new flywheel.
